Rajeev decides what gets published here, what is held back for a better source, and who reads a page before it goes out. Fifteen years of consumer and sports copy in Mumbai, most of it on explainers where a wrong number costs the reader money.
On this site Rajeev writes the pages about the site itself — policy, method, corrections — and reviews most of what everyone else files. Those own pages go to Karthik Iyengar, so nobody signs off their own work.

Where the role stops
An editor is not a lawyer, a tax adviser or a counsellor. Rajeev checks that a page cites the right source and states its limits, not that a reader should act on it.
How a page with this name on it is checked
Rajeev does not publish alone. Every page is read back by a second person before it goes out, and the byline names both. The standard both work to is in our editorial policy, and the method behind the numbers is set out in how we test.
Sources are linked in the page itself, primary text first. Where something cannot be checked yet, the page says so instead of guessing. Anything found wrong after publication is logged on the corrections page with the date and what changed.
